Obituary for Rowena Simpson

Rowena Ann Simpson, 77, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Born in Upham, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Johnson) Brennan.

Rowena was a former employee of the New Brunswick Community College Finance Department and attended The Journey Church, Brentwood Campus. She enjoyed travelling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, she was their biggest cheerleader at all of their sporting events.

Rowena will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, David Simpson; daughter, Tracy O’Blenes (Stephen) and son, Philip Simpson, both of Moncton; grandchildren, Chad, Hailey, Michael, Brooke and Avery; brother, Earl Brennan of Moncton and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Vaughan.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Rowena’s life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11:00 am. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

In memory of Rowena, donations to the NB Hearts & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family may be shared on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
