Obituary for S. Marilyn Wortman

It is with sadness the family of S. Marilyn Wortman announce her passing on February 15th, 2020 at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton, NB. Born July 23rd, 1933 in Hebron, NB she was the daughter of the late William and Arletta (Walton) Hoar.

Marilyn enjoyed gardening, and loved cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed company and loved visits from her grand-children, and the annual Hoar Family Picnic. She was a long-time member of St. Stephen’s United Church in Alma and a member of the UCW.

She is survived by her sons; Gerald (Norma) Wortman, Kenneth (Marilyn) Wortman, brothers; Sterling (Velma) Hoar, George (Vivian) Hoar, sisters-in-law; Mable Hoar, Dorothy Hoar, Mary Hoar, grandchildren; Carla, Karen, Andrew (Sylvie), Trevor (Michelle), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marilyn was pre-deceased by her husband; Raymond, infant daughter, brothers; Frank (Ann), Gerald, Donnie, Reginald, Everett, sisters; Verna (Everett) Moore, Della (Glen) Dowe, Jean (Joe) Russell, brother-in-law; Robert (Doris) Wortman, sister-in-law; Olive (Leo) Morrissey.

Arrangements are under the care of Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, NB E1E 3V9 506-852-3530. Public Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 from 6 PM to 8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, 2020 at 2 PM with burial to follow at Fair Haven Cemetery. All are welcome to stay for a Reception at Fair Haven Reception Centre.

Donations in Marilyn’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of choice. Online condolences can be made at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
