Obituary for Joyce Robart

Joyce Robart, 78, went to be with her Heavenly Father, on Sunday, February 16, 2020. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at The Moncton Hospital. Born in 1941, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Pearl Myles.

Joyce Idella (Myles) Robart (aka Gruma, Grammie Joyce, Nintendo Grammie) was born in Moncton, NB and married her high school sweetheart Roger in 1962. She graduated from Moncton High School in 1958. She became a registered nurse, graduating from the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 and remained an active member of the alumnae until her passing. She was also an active member of First Baptist Church and loved her church family and her Saviour. Her love of music and people (especially youth) was demonstrated in her daily life. She served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Board of Christian Education, and as a part of the sanctuary and hand bell choirs. She could also be faithfully found every Wednesday night at Pizza Delight/Swiss Chalet following her weekly TOPS meeting. Above even her love for Nintendo was her love for her amazing Grand Children with whom she enjoyed spending every possible waking moment.

Joyce will be sadly missed by her children, Vickie (Rob) Melanson of Moncton, Greg (Natalie) of Rothesay, Mike (Beverley) of Moncton, and Stephen (Carrie) of Stillwater Lake; 10 precious grandchildren, Jessica (Corey) Stultz, Sarah (Stephen) Moore, Erin, Tess, Drew, Alex, Josh, Kate, Aiden and Bradleigh. Also will be missed by her brothers, Wesley (Betty) and Gary (Wendy) Myles and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, Roger (August 2018) and sister, Donie.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Camille Allanach for the wonderful care you provided for mom over the years, along with your colleagues for the care in hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Dhany Charest, Dr. Sarah Ironside and to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit. To our Neuro (4100) family, thank you will never be enough to express how grateful we are for the love and care you gave “Gram/Memere”. We appreciate you all more than you know. Finally, to our amazing friends for the time, prayer and love for mom over the past few months we thank you.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Joyce’s life will be held at First Baptist Church, 157 Queen St., Moncton on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception following the service in the church hall. Interment will be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens following the reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church and the Friends of The Moncton Hospital. Online condolences for the family may be shared through the Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook Page. www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
