Obituary for Deborah Kemp

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Ann (Farnham) Kemp at Bobby’s Hospice on February 15, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saint John on August 10, 1953 to the late Douglas and Gladys (Beckwith) Farnham and was the loving wife of 44 years to husband, Dennis Kemp.

Debbie worked as a Bank Teller for many years before she moved into caretaking positions at various home care facilities, most recently at Darlene’s Home Care. She was a very popular and caring person. Debbie loved to go on shopping trips to various places, from Moncton to stores in the States and all around; she was a great shopper. She liked to travel with her family to Old Orchard Beach in the summer, and she was a loving wife and mother and much-adored Nan to her grandchildren. She created a lot of lasting memories in her lifetime and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Patrick Kemp and daughter, Kimberly (Jay Thibodeau) Kemp; grandchildren, Declan and Lily Kemp and Xavier Thibodeau; brother, Bruce (Cindy) Farnham and sister, Diane (Gary) Swain, as well as sister-in-law, Brenda Farnham, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Berton and her sister Donna.

Her family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Doctors and Nurses and Staff of the Oncology Department and Palliative Care Units at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Extra Mural, and the caring staff at Bobby’s Hospice for being so kind to Debbie and her family during her illness and treatment periods. Your compassion and care is so greatly appreciated.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Debbie’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will take place. A family graveside service will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens in the spring.

For those who wish, memorial donations in Debbie’s memory made to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family. To place an online condolence, please visit www.fundyfuneralhome.com
