Obituary for Mary-Louise Demmings

The death of Mary-Louise Demmings of Perth-Andover, NB, occurred on February 13, 2020 at the Victoria Glen Manor at the age of 91. Born in Andover, NB, on May 13, 1928, she was the only child of Bob and Georgia (Rush) Curry.

Mary-Louise was raised in Andover and moved to Aroostook as a teenager. She graduated from the Aroostook Superior School in 1945. She and Clifford were married in 1947 and raised six children in the rowdy railroad village of Aroostook.

She was an avid knitter and enjoyed sending packages of bonnets to hospitals for newborns. She served on the board of the Farmer's Store for several years. She was a dedicated fan of many local ball teams and was known to provide home cooked brownies to the players, as well as doctors, dentists, RCMP, war veterans and countless others in the community.

She is survived by her children, Carol Walton (William) of Wallace, NS, Diane Demmings (Charlie DeLong) of Fort Fairfield, ME, Kip Demmings (Mieke) of Perth-Andover, NB, Laurie Demmings (Loki) of Dartmouth, NS, Lois Demmings (Tim Rideout) of Kilburn, NB, and Kerry Demmings (Carol) of Aroostook, NB; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Clifford E. Demmings; her twin sons, David and Basil; and her son, Robert.

Funeral service was held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 2 pm from Brunswick Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheila Cummings officiated. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Rural Cemetery at a later date. Music for the service was by organist Dawn Bishop and soloist Barbara Rideout. The eulogy was given Kip and Laurie Demmings. Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
