Obituary for Edgar Poirier

Edgar Poirier, 80, of Shediac, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC in Moncton. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Nazaire and Viola (Caissie) Poirier.

He is survived by two daughters: Nancy Bourgeois (Oscar) of Dieppe and Debbie Poirier (Luc Guimond) of Edmundston; one son, Terry Poirier (Chantal) of Cormier Village; three siblings: Mathilde Léger (Richard) of Shediac, Francis (Jacqueline) of Dalhousie and Francine Trimmer (Tom) of Florida; a special friend: Gisèle Breau of Portage; five grandchildren: Zacharie, Dominic, April, Maxime and Amélie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (2007) and a brother, Jean.

In accordance to Edgar’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Interment will be in the Saint-Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shediac.

In memory of Edgar, a contribution to the CHU Dumont (oncology department) would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (532-3297). Words of comfort and online condolences may be forwarded through our website at: www.frenettefuneralhome.com
