Obituary for Lillian Aird

1936 - 2020
Shediac, NB - with great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Lillian, 83, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Born in Rosaireville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Romuald and Marie (Mazerolle) Gallant.

A trained hairstylist, Lillian’s life was punctuated by hard work. As a military spouse prone to frequent relocations, she would easily find work in alternative fields where her skill as a homemaker allowed her to succeed with ease. In retirement, these skills continued to define her as her home, specifically, her dinner table, became an inescapable magnet for family and friends.

Lillian joins her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, James Aird; her brothers, Lucien, Theodore and Arthur and sister, Antoinette. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Edwina Ramsay of Moncton and Trina Aird (Elizabeth) of Ottawa; one son, Mark Aird (Amanda) of Kingston, ON; three very special granddaughters, Kaela, McKenzie and Lauren. Lillian is also survived by her sisters, Julie, Claudia and Adrienne and brother, Antoine, as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion Street, on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 am, with Rev. J.B. Mallais presiding. Reception in the Parish Hall following mass. Interment will be in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In memory of Lillian, donations can be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation. Online condolences for the family may be shared on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
