Obituary for Percy W.R. Amos

With sad hearts, the family of Percy W. R. Amos of Fredericton, NB, announce his passing on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at York Care Centre. Born on July 18, 1929 in Amostown, NB, he was the son of the late Richard and Vilda (Clowater) Amos. Percy was a salesman, businessman and he and his wife owned and operated the Country Host Restaurant. He was a member of the Orange Lodge, Nashwaaksis United Church, volunteered at York Manor and was a proud blood donor. Percy enjoyed fishing, hunting, square dancing and spending time at the trailer.

In addition to his loving wife of over 70 years, Agnes "Betty" (Fullerton) Amos, Percy is survived by his sons, Allen Amos (Sandra), Alfred Amos (Donna), Hilton Amos (Beverly) and Thomas "Tom" Amos (Tobi Brooks); grandchildren, Sara, Evan, Rebecca, Matthew, Jennifer, Amanda, Richard, Darin and Tyler; 16 great–grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Flowers, Marilyn Hovey, Gladys Stevens, Eva Ward (Vingie), Edna Carson (Donnie), Donna Munn (Willard), brothers, Wayne Amos (Diane), Otto Amos (Shirley), Haviland Amos (Shirley), Elwood Amos (Barbara) and Arnold Amos (Pat); several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Alice Robinson and special nephew, Percy Allen Fullerton.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm. Members of the Orange Lodge LOL #32 are asked to assemble at 5:45 pm for a Tribute Service. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 24, 202 at 2 pm with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. Honourary Pallbearers are James Russell, Gary Fullerton, Tim Fullerton and Kim Woodworth. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, at a later date.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to York Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
