Obituary for Monica Ewart

It is with broken hearts that the family of Monica Ann Ewart, wife of Gary Ewart, announces her passing on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the only child of the late Charles Albert Kottas and Helen Pearl (Steen) Kottas.

Monica was a dedicated teacher, and talented artist.

She is survived by her beloved husband Gary Ewart, her two children, Mark (Mariann) Gillan of Grand Bay-Westfield, and Sara Ewart of Saint John, her six grandchildren, Meredith Garnett, Colby Garnett, Noah Currie, Victoria Gillan, Jonathan Gillan, Jason Gillan, and her dog Lacey.

Monica is resting at Saint Andrew’s Kirk United Church, 196 Hammond River Rd NB, with visiting on Tuesday, February 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, February 26th at 11:00 am, and a reception will follow. Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Saint Andrew’s Kirk United Church would be appreciated. Online condolences can be made at www.Castlefh.com
