Obituary for Clare Harris

Clare Loretta Anne Harris, wife of the late Thomas Harris of Warwick Road, NB passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 88. Born in Sevogle NB, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lucy (Doucette) Estey.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, she was a choir member, member of Island View Senior Citizens, Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 90, Sunny Corner, former member of Renous Senior Citizens. She also was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by seven daughters; Marilyn Baisley (Gyles) of Trout Brook, Wendy Jardine (Frank) of Warwick, Susan Silliker (Edwin) of South Esk, Jill Innes (Daryl) of Russellville, Loralei Murchison (Bob) of Knoxford NB, Jennifer Kenny (Adam) of Warwick, Clarissa Harris LeBreton (Brian) of Miramichi, two sons; Peter Harris (Ruth) of Cassilis, John Harris (Barbie) of Warwick, 14 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, and her husband, she was predeceased by one son Cletus, one daughter Joanne, five sisters, Edna Mower, Dalen Kingston, Sarah Lynch, Ruth Murphy and Belle LeBlanc, five brothers, George, Lawrence, Gerald, Edwin and Fred Estey.

Clare Loretta Anne Harris rested at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 and Friday 2 to 4 & 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Music lovingly performed by Marilyn and Gyles Baisley (daughter & son–in–law), Ethan Baisley (grandson), Grace & Olivia Bailsey (great granddaughters). Hymns were: “Here I Am Lord”, “By Name I Have Called You, “Blest Are They”, “Hallejah”, “Songs of the Angels”, Lord of the Dance”. Music selection was “Coat of many Colors”. A eulogy was Dayne Kenny (grandson). Readings were by Kamryn Harris (granddaughter) and Xavier Baisley (great grandson). Burial will be in St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring. Active Pallbearers were: Ethan Baisley, Jadon Harris, Luke Harris, Evan Jardine, Colin Silliker and Jonathan Harris.

In memory of Clare, donations to Arthritis Society, Miramichi Regional Hospital Palliative Care, Miramichi SPCA or Hospice Miramichi Capital Campaign would be appreciated by the family.
