Obituary for Lynn Webster

1953–2020
Our hearts are broken by the loss of our most beloved husband, father and grandfather – V. Lynn Webster. Lynn passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving partner, his wife Cheryl on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 after a short stay in the palliative care unit of Hotel Dieu Hospital in Perth–Andover, N.B.

Lynn was the proud and loving father of Bailey Webster (Alejandro Webster Duenas) and their son, Alejandro of Edmonton and Dylan and Stacey (Amelotte) Webster and their daughter Ruby of Fredericton. He is survived by his beloved sister Dawn (Webster) Boyer, her husband and Lynn’s lifelong friend Brian Boyer of Ontario. Their children Dallas and Kate Boyer and Breanne (Boyer) and Jason Gibbens and their children Colin, Emma, Jacob and Jaxson. He is also survived by his mother–in–law Peggy MacDonald (George Visser) as well as Cheryl’s siblings, Doug MacDonald and Karen O’Hagan, Wendy (MacDonald) and Stephen Goff and Bob and Beverley (MacDonald) Rudis. Nieces and Nephews Meg (MacDonald) and Dov Pechenick, Evan and Kai Pechenick, Chelsey Lawson and Mike MacKenzie, Denton and Sadie Lawson and Hannibal MacKenzie, Miles and Danielle (Belyea) Goff, Ian Goff and Alexa Higgins. Lynn’s cousins he called brother – Vern and Penny Webster and Carter and Beverly Smith. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Lynn retired in 2010 after 36 years of working for NBTel/BellAliant. His career took him all over New Brunswick and there were few roads that he hadn’t travelled. He was as busy in his retirement years as he had been in his working career. When Lynn was home in Aroostook, he could be found in his garage engineering, dreaming about or building whichever car was in his shop or planning his next construction project or where his heart lived, at Belyea’s Cove on the beautiful Washademoak Lake.

Lynn was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Shirley (McNally) Webster and his father in law George MacDonald.

We are profoundly grateful to the exemplary care and kindness shown to Lynn by Dr. Carter Kennedy, the staff of the emergency department and the palliative care unit at the Hotel Dieu Hospital and the kindness of Tim Murchison and Chad DeWitt of Ambulance N.B. The caring and compassion shown to Lynn helped to ease his suffering and our sorrow.

In the end, the most amazing thing happens, cancer loses its strength and peace appears. Peace and love win, not cancer.

A service celebrating Lynn's life was held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 4 pm from Brunswick Funeral Home. Music for the service was by Lynn's niece, Chelsey Lawson, and good friend, Tammy Chase. Remembrances were shared by Lynn's wife, Cheryl Webster, his brother–in–law, Doug MacDonald, and his cousin, Vern Webster. Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth–Andover.
