Obituary for Shirley Kelley

1933-2020
Shirley Kelley passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Monarch Hall Nursing Home in Riverview, on February 24th, 2020. She was born in Clark’s Harbour Nova Scotia on October 21st, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Regina (Nickerson) Swim.

In addition to her parents Shirley was predeceased by her brother Minard; sister Eleanor and grandson Jack. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Clifford; children John (Stacey), Susan, Thomas (Marsha), Robert (Inge); grandchildren Stephen (Meaghan), Tyler (Victoria), Sean, Kate, Neil, Andie, Joe; great-granddaughter Brynlee; sister Gwen Redding; sister-in-law Marge Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was an avid sports fan and was the captain of her high school basketball team. She graduated from Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing, and practiced in Halifax, Yarmouth, Moncton, and Summerside. Her greatest joy was her family, and Nana loved cheering on her grandchildren at various sporting events.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Monarch Hall for their loving care of Shirley over the past many years.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Resting at Fair Haven with public visitation on February 29th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a funeral service in the Fair Haven Chapel at 2:00pm. The family would like for you to join them in the Garden View Reception Room for refreshments following the service from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton E1E 3V9 (506) 852-3530.
