Obituary for Ella Scott

It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Ella Marion (Price) Scott at Frederick Hall, Shannex, on Monday, February 24, 2020. Born on October 15, 1917, being in her 103 year, she was the daughter of the late Reverdy and Margaret (Charters) Price.

Marion will be remembered for being an exceptionally hard worker, for her knitting, quilting and other fine hand work. She was a lifelong learner. She learned to swim in her fifties and to drive in her sixties. Her love of bridge came later in life (around the same time she was learning to drive) and she continued to play well into her late nineties.

Marion will be greatly missed by her sons Donald Scott (Davida) and Keith Scott (Barbara); daughters Barbara Scott and Darlene Stairs; grandchildren Jane Scott, Nathan Scott, Rachel Scott (Paul Warne), Jason Scott, Beth Pye (Brad), Jonathan Stairs (Jennifer), Jennifer Cruz (Phil), Jessa Reid (Rob), Rebecca Scott, D. Matthew Scott and Kaely Scott (Patrick Schiff); 12 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law Kathleen Christie, along with many nephews, nieces, friends and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, John Scott, her son Harry Scott as well as four brothers Archie, Donald, Edmund and Gerald Price; three sisters, Dorothy Price, Susan Schriver and Joyce Brooks; two brothers-in-law, Guy Brooks and Eldon Schriver and three sisters-in-law, Elva Price, Halene Price and Marion Price.

A special thanks to staff of Shannex who became part of her family in her final years.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Wilmot United Church at 2:00 pm. An interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery will take place later in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Wilmot United Church would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be left at www.mcadamsfh.com.
