Obituary for Viola Léger

1923 - 2020
Viola (Breau) Léger, 96, of Moncton, passed away in the evening of Sunday, March 8, 2020 at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born on New Year’s Eve 1923 in Moncton, Viola was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lucie (Melanson) Breau.

She will be sadly missed by her three sons: Terrence “Terry” (Jackie) of Grand-Barachois, Charles (Lori) of Moncton, and Maurice “Moe” (Elspeth) of Moncton; five grandchildren: Joceline, Melanie, Brianna, Marc, and Christian; four great-grandchildren: Bailey, Denis-Alexandre, Marc-Antoine and Violet; two brothers: Henri “Hank” (Mitsuko) of Florida, and Paul (Doreen) of Moncton; three special nieces: Kristin, Janis and Barrie-Anne who were like daughters and very important in her life, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Viola was predeceased by her husband, Hector Léger (January 1977); one sister, Florine; and five brothers: Roy, Freddie, Alcide, Ronald, and Raymond.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 220 St. George Street, Moncton on Friday, March 13 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
