With great sadness the family announces the passing of Melville "Pat" on May 22, 2020 at home. Born March 18, 1931 in Petersville, NB to Jenny (Butler) Hogan and George Hogan. He is the last surviving family member.

Pat was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and Nucky, his loyal fur friend. Pat took great pride in being the care taker of St. Dunstan’s church for 52 years.

Pat is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rose, and their children, Richard Hogan of Charters Settlement, Darren (Jen) Hogan of Fredericton and Melissa Hogan of Oshawa, Ontario; six grandchildren, Amy (Jorden) Hogan, Jenny Hogan and Thomas Patterson of Fredericton, Crystal Hogan, Kyle Hogan and Eric Hogan, of Oshawa, Ontario; two great grandchildren, Josh and Haven; sister–in–law, Nancy Rice (Charles), Anne Pace (Gerry), Shirley Mallet Craft; special nephew Murray Walsh (Lana) and many other nieces and nephews.

Pat was predeceased by his parents; infant daughter Connie Lynn; brothers Herbie, Arthur and Alfred; sisters Mildred Breen, Irene Walsh Woagy, Francis McSheffrey, Ellen McCann, Vera O’Donnell and Catherine Owens; sister–in–law Linda Price; brothers–in–law Warren Price and Buddy Craft; and special friend Reverend Jack Dolan.

Due to restrictions on gatherings, a private memorial service for family and close invited friends will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020.

The family wants to thank Dr. Brittney Gillis and Kyle Gillis and the Extra–Mural Program.

Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton NB, have been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial donations in Pats memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton or the donor’s choice. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
