Obituary for Laura Gaudet

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Gaudet on July 15, 2020 at Moncton City Hospital, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Adélard and Germaine (Landry) Cormier.

Laura retired from the Co–operators Insurance after a rewarding career of 35 years. She loved spending winters in St Petersburg Florida with her husband Marc. She was vice–president of the Harbor Lights Social Club and loved practicing yoga. She recently obtained her yoga teaching certificate. Laura loved reading, sewing and quiliting, as well as cycling. She and Marc travelled extensively over the years, but they found their special place and community at Harbor Lights Club. Her most amazing attribute was her faith in God and her ability to share that faith so lovingly, especially during her illness.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years, Marc Gaudet, two daughters, Renée (Conrad) Gaudet and Josée Gaudet both of Memramcook, three grandchildren, Danika, Alyssa and Robin, six sisters, Félice Cormier, Yvonne (Jean–Guy) Cormier, Kristine (Ron) Cormier all of Memramcook, Dodie “Doris’’ Cormier of Moncton, Denise (Brian) Mahoney of Memramcook and St–Petersburg Florida, and Danielle (Claude) Vienneau of Cap–Pelé and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Michel Cormier (1978).

Visitations will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Monday July 20 from 1 to 3 pm only. Funeral mass will be held at the St–Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church on Monday July 20 at 4:00 pm. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the staff of the Moncton City Hospital Palliative unit and the Extra–Mural for their kindness, compassion and amazing care.

Arrangements are in care of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. www.dupuisfuneralhome.ca
