Obituary for Eileen Ross

It is with profound sadness that the family of Eileen Florence Ross (née Peterson) announce her passing on Monday, August 31st, 2020, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on December 16th, 1940, in McGivney, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late James and Fern (née Greer) Peterson. Although Eileen lived her life in Fredericton and locations abroad, she never forgot her McGivney roots.

She was an extraordinary cook and always enjoyed a great party with family and friends.

She will be missed dearly by her husband, Douglas Ross; daughter, Tammy Ross-Cassidy (Brian); granddaughter, Jessica Ross (Jon Oliver); grandson, Matthew Dunphy; as well as her little dog Bella.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by brothers, Allen, Gene, Claude, James, Bliss, and Hal; sisters, Marie, Paulette, Maise Fairley, and Donna Hawes; nieces, Sherry, and Kim; nephew, Wally.

A visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 4th, 2020, at the J.A. McAdam’s Memorial Chapel at 11:00am with a burial to follow in the McGivney Community Cemetery. Guests are reminded that all social distancing measures will be observed during the visitation and service.

For those who wish, in the spirit of her extraordinary generosity, donations may be made to the Association for Community Living, for whom she always sought donations. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
