Obituary for Elizabeth Hooper

Elizabeth (Betty) Lu Hooper, 79 of Petitcodiac passed away suddenly on Friday, October 16, 2020 at home in the presence of family.

Betty was the daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude (Ripley) Trifts. She graduated from Coles Island High School and NB Teachers College. In her early working years Betty taught Junior High School in Petitcodiac, then devoted herself to raising her family. Later on she worked as a supply teacher, was a former member of the District 16 School Board, she operated a daycare, had been a physician's receptionist, operated Blueberry Hill Gift Shop and Tourist Center in Petitcodiac and was a canvasser for many charities. Betty enjoyed gardening, travelling, camping at New River Beach, was an avid reader and most of all she loved time spent with her family.

She is survived and sadly missed by her beloved husband of 58 years Ronald; children Margo Hooper, Jan Hooper and Ron (Jr.) (Crystal); cherished grandchildren Jack, Peyton, Liam and Genevieve; brothers Dr. Robert Trifts (Celine), Dr. Jack Trifts (Jan); sister Patricia Margeson; brother-in-law Glenn Hooper and several nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be private family service at Armstrong's Funeral Chapel, Petitcodiac (756-3361).

If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Harvest House or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
