The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Loyd Bulmur can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

It was devastating to watch Loyd struggle every day with his pain. Always stoic, he tried not to show it. I'm glad I was always there to hold his hand and help in any way I could. He was a private person who supported and mentored many young journalists in his long career, including me. He started off in Vancouver as a sports journalist, then switched to British United Press, first in Seattle and later, in Canada. He was with CBU in Vancouver for many years before joining CBC National Radio News in Toronto in 1964. If you wanted to know anything about anything or anybody, you asked Loyd. He had an encyclopaedic memory. He was a very good friend.
