My Grandpa, Don Bregger
My grandpa was the most respected, social, educated, loving, and kind man I've ever met, and probably ever will. I have so many amazing memories with him, from all the Christmas', fourth of Julys, weekend visits, and miscellaneous events. I've appreciated and enjoyed every moment I've spent with him. But, I remember that when my brother and I would come out to visit and my grandpa would come home from the casino or hanging out with his friends he would always empty his overall pockets and pull out all of his change and place it on the table in front of us. And he always said, "split this change between you and your brother," and then he'd give us a smile and then walk on into the living room. We never asked for it, but for some reason that's what he did, and I'm forever grateful for his small acts of kindness. Another thing I'll always remember, is that when he would introduce me to one of his buddies, he would always talk so highly of me and tell them all of my accomplishments, and it seemed as if he were proud to call me his granddaughter. And god knows I'll always be proud to call him my grandpa.
