Richard Newton
To the Minch Family
On behalf of my triplet brothers, Roland and Ronald, the three of us express our deepest sympathies to all of you. Johnny was in our class from the first grade on...new and fond
memories every year...plus his dad let us work on his threshing crew every summer for
the unheard wage of $1./hr...my fondest memory of Johnny happened one night after working the dayshift at the Kuner-Empson plant on east third avenue in Longmont...
brother Dave needed his car for a date and
I had no choice but to walk home to Mead...
the simplest route was by the way of the
RR tracks...when I got to Smith place on 66
and walking east from there a car went by me
and came to a screeching stop...he backed up
and asked if I needed a ride...it was JOHNNY.
That's the last time I saw him...wish I would
have crossed paths again. Regards, Richard
