I was very sorry to learn of the passing of Mrs. Fanton. I had the pleasure of having her at Shaw Heights Junior High for two years of English and literature. I always enjoyed her class and, today, I am a much better writer as a result. I will not forget, "A Day No Pigs Would Die" and "To Kill a Mockinbird" as much for her presentation of those pieces of literature as anything. Those sparkling eyes and wry smile and soft, compassionate yet firm demeanor will be missed by many. Thank you for sharing her time and talent in the classroom for so many years.
