Unfortunately, just like most of my relatives, I had not seen Jim in many years. He was always a really likeable guy and my condolences to Scott, Laura and their families.
My Dad, Vern told me a story about Jim that always stuck in my mind as one of the neatest things I had heard. When they were young and growing up on the farm, Jim was quite the avid hunter/outdoorsman and would go out on snowhoes in the winter. Dad said that they didn't have a lot of money for ammunition so Jim would actually run rabbits down on his snowshoes. He would chase them into deep snow where they wold get bogged down and then would just reach down and drab them. Dad thought he would have done this regardless of the money for ammo. It was just the kind of challenge Jim enjoyed.
