My Dear Friend Connie

We have been friends for forty six years at least.  I met Connie in San Pablo, CA when I moved fron North Carolina.  We got to know each other through church but oddly enough we became closer through phone calls as my husband and I moved away and started our family in several other parts of the country.  We have kept up with each other from all over the country.  The year I turned 50 years old, my gift from my family was a trip so I flew to California, picked up Connie and we drove north.  We had the best time together, went north California, on up through Oregon, across the mountain east and over to some mutual friends of ours from San Pablo, the Ledbetters, I think we even visited a brother in law of mine.  We just clicked as far as getting along, agreed on everything when it came to where to stop during the day, events to see, restaurants, how far to drive.  We spent a whole week on this trip and I wouldn't have traded travelling partners for the world.  I will always treasure that trip with my dear friend Connie Moon for the rest of my life.  "Connie, we didn't get to make the London trip we tentatively planned because the Lord had a better trip for you.  But if I ever get to go, I'll sure think of you the whole time.  I will always miss you my Friend and never forget you.  I will forever love you.  But I would never call you back.  I know you are with our Lord Jesus Christ and I will see you again one day."
