Obituary for Dorothy Lawrene Furioso

FURIOSO- Mrs. Dorothy Lawrene Furioso age 73 years, a resident of Bethammi Nursing Home passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Born in Fort William, Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the city. Dorothy was an accomplished artist who honed her skills with the Oliver Road Rec Centre and 55 Plus Art Groups. She helped organize the Intercity Art Show and Sale which displayed artwork from these groups. Dorothy canvassed for the Arthritis Society with her husband Rick for many years. She enjoyed time spent in her flower garden and preparing meals for family and friends.

Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Richard, son Kirk, daughter Krysta (Dylan Doubt) Furioso, grandchildren, Kassidy, Cody, and Clementine, daughter-in-law Kathy, brothers: Laurie (Sharon) Spooner, Paul Spooner, Allan (Linda) Spooner, Peter (Debra) Spooner, sister Marsha (John Francis) Albanese, brothers-in-law Bernie Bukovy, Joe Furioso, Jimmy (Carol) Furioso, Ken (Pat) Furioso, and sister-in-law Anne Skribka. Numerous other relatives also survive.

She was predeceased by parents Lawrence and Dorothy Spooner, sister Elizabeth Bukovy, brother Norman Spooner and in-laws Anibale and Mary Furioso.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. Anthony's R.C. Church where family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Vigil Prayers being offered at 2:00 pm. Should friends desire and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Joseph's Foundation- Bethammi or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
