The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Daniel Samples can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The Hardest Class with a Great Professor

I took Dr. Sample's Histology class at Baylor. I could see the passion he had for teaching and the subject material. A common phrase of his during class was, "cool stuff." It was definitely the most difficult class I've ever taken at Baylor, but needless to say it was worth it. Now as a graduate student, the knowledge Dr. Samples insisted we know has layed a foundation for me in one of my Biomedical Science core courses.

I appreciated his willingness to meet with me at 7:00 am for office hours to review quizes, tests, and asnwer questions because of my hectic schedule. Not many professors were understanding of my work obligations to finanially support myself. He encouraged his students to do their best and always cracked a few jokes during class to lighten the mood. Professors like him that truly care and are willing to give of their personal time are few in number within the Bio department. He will be truly missed and I'm honored to have had him as a professor.
