Douglas Eugene  Roe
Passed away peacefully after two days in the Palliative Care Unit, Brockville General Hospital in his 88th year. Dearly loved husband and best friend to the late Elizabeth Joan (nee Cook). Much loved and loving father of Sandra Balch (late Robin) and Pamela Robinson (Murray) Predeceased by daughter Marilyn. Loving grandfather to Jennifer Lawton, Lindsay Westerink, Amanda and Victoria Robinson. Survived by sisters Dianne Devitt and Debbie Blohon. Predeceased by parents Wilbert and Helen Roe (nee Miller) and sister Suzanne Burrell. Douglas was born in Massena, N.Y. and raised in Cornwall, Ontario. He and Joan moved to Brockville when they married and raised their family there. He retired from DuPont Canada after 35+ years of service. His enjoyment in life was found in his family, church, hunting, fishing, family cottage on Charleston Lake, golfing and curling. Doug’s strength, compassion and thoughtfulness will be greatly missed by his family.

Family and friends may visit at the Irvine Memorial Chapel in Maitland, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Wednesday August 16 from 10:00 – 11:30 am. A service in celebration of Doug’s life will be held in the chapel at 11:30 am followed by interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in Doug’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
