The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Arthur Brountas can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

NICE is the word I automatically think of for both Arthur and George

I always loved interacting with George and Arthur at the Bangor Greyhound station; they were always very warm and friendly, and took a genuine personal interest in the lives of their customers.  They of course had hundreds of customers come through their doors every year, yet they would always remember me even after many months, and ask how I was doing.  When I heard that George had died, I gave Arthur a big hug of sympathy, and he was very accepting and grateful.  He also passed me a couple sheets of paper to write down fondly-recalled memories for him of the many nice things that George had done for me over the years to make my Greyhound travel more easy, pleasant, and economical; Arthur said that he wanted to share the memories with his neice and nephew.
