Justin went out of his way to help us play a DVD of My moms pictures on a TV, kudos to him.. I wish they were in my hometown, but for Florida, this hits the mark. We were the "demanding & very particular family, some might say difficult", but Davis-Seawinds far exceeded our expectations in every way..

Grateful to be there...

Aunt Ruth's local helper and friend, Linda, sent me a text on Sunday night, November 5th, to let me know Aunt Ruth was in Hospice and had wanted me to know she was close to passing.

I arrived at her Hospice room in Florida at 8:15pm on Monday night, November 6th, in time to spend about 7 uninterrupted hours with her. She looked so healthy, sleeping peacefully. Beautiful skin, hair... just a beautiful person inside and out. The timing of her breaths slowed down from about six a minute to one a minute. I had to leave her room to go outside and get some air.

Sitting in my vehicle in the parking lot, at about 4:36AM on Tuesday the 7th, a text came through from Linda, "Hospice called, Ruthie's gone to God."

My Aunt Ruth went the same way my Momma did -- on her terms, and her timing. She invoked her DNR, stopped eating, went into Hospice, and peacefully began her Journey into the Next Life.

I tell you this so that whomever reads about Mary Ruth's death will know that she went out as gracefully and elegantly as she went about her life.

I miss her, and I cannot help but be in awe of the women in my family lineage who came before: strong-willed, graceful, beautiful. My grandmom, mom, her.... Love you, Aunt Mary Ruth!
