The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Saundra Greene can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Always there...

Most children, as they grow older, tend to pull away from their parents and, "Drop me off at the corner, Mom" and "Don't kiss me on the cheek" are common expressions you begin to hear as they grow older. Not in our house. Our mom was our best friend. As a young age we knew that we could count on our mom for anything. We could tell her at 11 o'clock at night that we had volunteered her to bake 6 dozen cookies for the next day's homeroom celebration and she had them ready when we awoke the next morning. She was amazing like that. We volunteered her every year for homeroom mother, PTA president, chaperone on every trip that our classes ever took, track meet captain, cheerleader sponsor, Girl Scout leader, Week long Day Camp Nurse (she was a areal RN you know?), Den room mother. She did all of that and had a hot meal on the table every night at 5 o'clock sharp, when my dad walked through the door after working a full day, back in the times when there were no microwaves available to thaw out your food.
