Let me first say to Verns family that I am truly saddened to learn of his passing and you all have my heartfelt sympathy. I met Vern over 20 years ago when I bought a holster set from him. We spoke by phone and via email often at that time. I soon expressed an interest in trying my hand at the craft of holster making and Vern was extremely helpful. He sent me many patterns, some of which I use to this day. He also sent me a package of hardware parts for holster construction. I always found him very willing to help me out. We stayed in touch for a couple of years, even exchanged Christmas card photos. As often happens we just lost touch but I will never forget his helpful attitude towards me. Again, my sympathy for his family and my apology for being so slow in writing this tribute.
