The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sandra Palmer can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Jeannine Raymond

I first met Sandy when I arrived at UC Berkeley as the chief HR officer and she was my executive assistant. Throughout the time I knew her, she was funny, fun, totally dedicated to supporting those around her. She was like the mother ship of the office. I'll never forget the bag of hard candy and breath mints she gave me to take on one of my long flights - always thinking of creative ways to support her boss. In fact, I still have one of those bags and think of her every time I pack for another trip. Leaving Berkeley HR was a tough decision for her but she really wanted to enjoy being close to her daughter. In the end, I bid her farewell knowing that she was going to be happy with her future in Texas. I missed the tap of her fingernails (rather loud tap!) on my office door and cheerful "tick tock" on Friday afternoons reminding me to leave if I intended to make the Friday train back to Fresno. Though sad to hear of her passing, I am glad that she had the opportunity to spend a few years close to those she loved. Jeannine
