Obituary for Joyce Ann Traylor

Joyce Ann Traylor, 80, a native and longtime resident of Matoaca, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Sunflower Gardens assisted living. She was the daughter of the late Garland L. and Mildred Holt Robertson. She was a retired secretary for the Petersburg School Board for 35 years, a member of the Life Church on Harrowgate Road in Chesterfield County, and was a member of the Matoaca Women’s Club. She was lover of arts, crafts, and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas R. (TR) Traylor, Jr.; two sons, Terry Traylor (Toni) of Dinwiddie, and Thomas Traylor (Sharon) of Chesterfield; one daughter, Carol Pannill (Phil) of Chesterfield; five grandchildren, Dustin Traylor (Anna) of Raleigh N.C., Lauren Traylor of Dinwiddie, Brandon Traylor, Ryan Traylor, and Ty Pannill, all of Chesterfield; two great-grandchildren, Tessa Brayboy and Alice Traylor; four siblings, Marilyn Hess (Jim) of Colonial Heights, Carol Weeks of Phoenix, AZ., Melanie Mallory (Robert), and John Robertson (Sue) of Chesterfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Rev. Scott Tichler officiating. Burial to follow in East Matoaca Cemetery, South Chesterfield. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
