When I was in the 5th grade I remember learning the Christmas Carols for the first time and goofing off during practices in Mrs. Liggett's Music Class. One day after class she pulled me and one of my friends aside and called me out for not showing respect to Jesus and his life and birth. I deserved to be scolded and I knew it. From that day on I began to listen to the Carols with my heart and I rememer singing them at the christmas program and thinking about the words. Every Christmas I think of her when I hear so many of the classic Carols. She was a great teacher and a wonderful lady. She taught us that singing was for everyone, not just the girls. I am thankful for her and her influence in my early life.
