How saddened and grieved I was to learn, officially, of the passing of "Mr. Laliberte" (as he was known to his students at MRCHS). I am so very sorry for this late tribute and acknowledgment. It is no surprise to me that I was both thinking of him, and dreaming of him, recently. He was my highly respected and dearly beloved teacher of General Science and Economics in high school. He was extremely popular and the "coolest cat on the block". He was one of those teachers you remember all your life because they made a difference. Over the course of my life I have thought back to the events and people who have influenced me; Mr. Laliberte was very definitely one of the half dozen teachers in my life who were an inspiration to me. Mr. Laliberte was most DEFINITELY one of my "sent from the stars" superheroes. I ask the Laliberte family not to grieve, but to rejoice and be glad, as I do and am. A hero has fallen, and the world shall not see his like again. The pain of this passing will fade soon enough, although the sense of loss will linger forever; This truth I know. The Laliberte family gave this afflicted world a truly inspirational hero, a magnificent teacher whose example covered him with Glory, and a truly great man. Soon enough, we will all be together again. I respectfully ask the Laliberte family to please accept my most sincere and profound condolences; May you all be spared further sorrows.
