The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Cain can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The Gentleman Lawyer

I first met John in a business purchase and sale project in which we represented potential adversaries. It was somewhat early on in my law practice. John was several years older. Other experience had prepared me for battling out a zero sum game with a hard liner on the other side. John introduced me to the reality that we could simply be fair, keep the potential conflict in perspective, and reach a good agreement for both of our clients while having some good laughs and becoming friends along the way. What a gift. John was a gentleman lawyer in every best sense. He was the only lawyer I worked with over the years who called me "TC."   I suspect he had a fondness for nicknames. I can hear his not-a-lisp-but-unique-slight-slip-of-something in his mouth saying those initials, and I will never forget it. I will always be grateful to have known him and to know he considered me a friend. Thank you, John.
