Auntie Lois

Auntie Lois I am sure going to miss you!   I will always carry so many fond memories of you. Most of all, the times you were there for me.  You were there when the doctor’s told  Mom and I that there was nothing more they could do for my Dad and it was just a matter of  time.  You held me while a cried.  Only to be able to make a little joke about snot all over your  shoulder to make me laugh and get me to calm down some.  You were good about cheering up the mood. You were there the weekend that Mom and my sisters went to Lewiston to help with dresses for cousin Lynn’s wedding.  It was only about a month or so after Dad died.  You stopped by to find me falling apart, crying my eyes out with my bible and rosary near by.  You stayed a while and listened to me … and told me the story about the Capuchin priest who told you about the gift of tears.   The trip to Lewiston a few years ago with you and Aunt Deanie – I really enjoyed that.   Your little visits to check on me after Mom passed away.  Especially the day you stopped by with gladiolas and peony flowers with some broccoli salad and raspberries to check on me.  Our little talks meant soooo much to me.   All the crafts and projects ... teaching me your frosting recipe (which I still have) and cake decorating tips along with tips for many other crafty projects.  I still have many of your ceramic masterpieces ... my favorite is the Nativity set.   I will forever remember the last day I saw you … August 11th. You made sure you came into the house to see the work that we had done even though your hip was hurting you … and you loved it … you were soooo proud of me with regards to the house.  That meant a lot to me.  As stated by many … you definitely had a heart of gold.  I got my last hug … I got to say “I love you” and of course, as always, you said “I love you more!”   Until I see you again and hug you again …. I love you more!
