WORCESTER: Eva Marie (Ciuffreda) Atchue 82, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 surrounded by her children at CareOne at Millbury. Eva was born and raised in Worcester, one of nine children of Italian immigrants Pasquale and Angelina Ciuffreda.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence (Larry) Atchue. They were married for 59 years and they lived and raised their family in Worcester. Eva, leaves behind her beloved three children, six granddaughters and four great grandsons: Joseph (Sandi) Atchue of Dudley, MA, and their daughters Brianna, Danielle (Cameron) and great grandson John, and Olivia (Ryan), and great grandson Michael, Christine (Michael) Barrett, and their daughter Carly, and Robert (Lori) Atchue of Worcester, MA, and his daughters Rebekah (Kyle) and great grandson Theo, and Amanda (Daniel) and great grandson George. She also leaves behind her brother Francis “Babe” Ciuffreda and sister, Rose Erikson, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Eva was also predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Domenic “Tommy” and Michael Ciufredda, and three sisters, Fanny Maenzo, Mary Sheard, and Natalie Bird.
Eva enjoyed time with family, cooking and baking on holidays, and watching her grandchildren grow and prosper. She held a special place in her heart for her four great grandsons. Eva’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff for their loving care at CareOne at Millbury.
Family and friends can pay their respects from 9:00 -10:30am on Saturday, March 9, at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester Street, North Grafton, MA 01536. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am at St. Mary’s Parish, 17 Waterville St, North Grafton and interment at Pine Grove Cemetery will be held following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eva’s name to CareOne at Millbury, 312 Millbury Avenue, Millbury, MA 01527.
