Obituary for JEAN-GUY SANSTERRE

SANSTERRE, JEAN-GUY On Monday, October 12, 2009, surrounded by his loving children and faithful wife of 46 years, Jean-Guy Sansterre of Burton, NB joined the many angels in heaven. Born on February 10, 1942 in Edmunston, NB, he was the son of the late Maurice and Agnes Santerre. He has one surviving sister, Pierrette (Paul) Allard and was predeceased by his sisters, Jovette Bellefleur and Claudette Gagnon. In addition to his wife, Amy, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Williams of Fredericton, NB; his sons, Gilles (Helen) from Orleans, ON and Roger (Lisa) of Edmonton, AB; and grandchildren, Jonathan, Melanie, Justine, Jeanelle, Mitchel, Nathalie, Liza, Zoey and Jacob. Jean-Guy retired in 2002 after a distinguished 25 year career as a Medical Assistant in the Canadian Armed Forces and 13 years as a Public Servant at CFB Gagetown. A very active member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Parish and the Knights of Columbus, he will be remembered by all his brother Knights and sorely missed by the Thursday evening bingo crowd and all of his bowling buddies and friends. Visitation will take place at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St, Oromocto, NB on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 25 Loisville St, Oromocto, NB, at 11 am, Friday, October 16, 2009 with father Ken Weir officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Saint Vincent de Paul Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered through www.oromoctofh.com, 357-5100.
