Obituary for Elie Hebert

HÉBERT, ELIE ʺTILLYʺ

1938 – 2019

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and husband; Tilly, Elie Hébert on, Saturday, May 18, 2019 after a long hard fought battle with cancer.

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Jeannette, his favourite daughter, Liette and son Serge. Serge’s wife April, two grandsons, Matthew and Jack. And two very special people Ginette and Christopher, who along with his wife and kids were an important part of his family. He was the eldest and leader of the Hébert clan survived by his brothers, Paul, Donald and Ronald (Joe) and by « the sisters », Corinne, Jeanita, Janet, Lucille and Rachel.

Tilly was preceded by his mother and father, Emile and Sadie (Bourgeois) Hébert.

Tilly led a quiet yet extraordinaire life, he was a key player in the foundation of Lewisville Minor Hockey and of Oldtimer Hockey in Moncton.

A fierce opponent on the ice, off the ice he was generous and kind to all he met. He leaves behind hundreds of stories of generosity and good deeds.

His laughter and million dollar smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Jeannette, Liette & Serge would like to thank their amazing families, the Hebert’s and DesRoches’ for their love and support.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton on Thursday May 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste–Thérèse–de–l’Enfant–Jésus R.C. church, 457 Acadia Avenue, Dieppe on Friday May 24 at 11 am.

If you are considering making a memorial donation in Tilly’s memory, the family has requested donations to Headstart.

Condolences to the family and donations may be made through www.frenettefuneralhome.com
