Obituary for Betty Leavitt

The passing of Betty Marie Leavitt of Blacks Harbour, NB occurred on August 13, 2019 at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB with her family by her side. Born in Blacks Harbour, NB on November 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Burns and Edna (Trynor) Leavitt.

A loving sister, aunt and friend, Betty is survived by her brother: Robert "Bobby" (Glenna) Leavitt of Blacks Harbour, NB; nephews: Richard "Ricky" (Bev) Leavitt of Blacks Harbour, NB and Mike (Lorena) Leavitt of Beaver Harbour, NB; several great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.

Prior to retirement, Betty worked at Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour and was also active in the Canteen at the Blacks Harbour Arena for a number of years. In her quiet time, Betty enjoyed knitting or talking on her CB Radio where she was known by her handle, "Roxanne." She liked baseball and was known to watch a Blue Jays game when she had the chance. Betty will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George, NB on Friday at 2:00 pm with Father Rolando Suplido officiating.

In Betty's memory, donations to the Fundy Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences may be placed at www.stgeorgefh.ca
