Obituary for Margaret Dixson

1922-2019
Margaret E. Dixson, 97, of Moncton and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on August 30th, 2019 at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. She was born in Hillsborough on June 16, 1922 the daughter of the late J. Watson and Alice (Jonah) Steeves.

Margaret was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She took pride in making a comfortable home for her family. She was a member of the Highfield Baptist Church and a former member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church. She was a Dominion Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society and very active in Mission work. She taught Sunday School for many years and left a great impression on many children throughout her life. Margaret will be remembered for her great faith, generosity, and kindness. She was truly a sweet lady who would do anything needed to help others. She was small in stature, but had a very big heart. She is now at peace and forever with the Lord.

She will be deeply missed by her two grandsons, Dale Shaffer of Riverview and Mark Shaffer (Shirley) of Riverview; her treasured great-grandchildren, Amanda, Katelynn, and Drew; her precious great-great-grandchildren, Savannah, Luciana, and Vincent; her sister Mildred Fenton of Hillsborough. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Dixson (1983); her daughter Linda Shaffer (2018); by brothers, Harold Steeves (Frances) and Gerald Steeves (Verna).

Honouring Margaret's wishes there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at the Highfield Baptist Church (290 St. George St, Moncton, NB) on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 at 2:00pm with Pastor Gary Barr officiating. Interment will be held in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB.

For those who wish, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
