Obituary for Miriam Pugh

It is with sad hearts that the family of Miriam Alberta (Estey) Pugh of Burtts Corner announces her passing at Hospice House, Fredericton on Saturday, November 9, 2019. She was the wife of the late John R. Pugh and daughter of the late Sisson R. Estey and Hattie A. (Haines, Estey) Armstrong.

Miriam was a long-time and dedicated member of the Burtts Corner Christian Church. She was a member of the ladies sewing circle, faithfully attending their weekly quiltings. Miriam enjoyed working in her flower garden as well as her vegetable garden. She was employed by UNB at the Harriet Irving Library for a number of years, retiring in 1993.

Miriam is survived by two sons, J. Brent Pugh, Burtts Corner and Kenn B. Pugh (Mabel), Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Nathan Pugh (Shannon) and Jessica Wright (Shane); great-grandchildren, Selena Pugh, Sienna and Colten Wright; sister, Mary Jones; a special niece, Heather Jones; aunt Hilda Haines; sister-in-law Patricia Estey and brother-in-law Murray Dunphy; along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents Miriam was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Lee; sister Marlene Dunphy and brother David Estey.

Visitation will be held at the Burtts Corner Christian Church, #1021, Route 104, Burtts Corner, on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Church on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 2 pm with Pastor Dan Foreman officiating. Interment will follow at the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery.

Special Thank you to the staff at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital 4SE and Hospice Fredericton for their compassionate care they provided to Miriam during her time there.
