Jack Herther
Peggy:
I was Itek's first employee hired in Dec 1957, just after getting out of the Air Force having developed the Lockheed Agena satellite vehicl for recconnaissance payloads.
I did the technical proposal for Itek's VP Duncan Mac Donald and Dick Leghorn who had known me in the AF and hired me to write a proposal to stabilize a satellite carrying a scaled up balloon camera that the BU Physical research lab was building.
It was all highly classified. Then Vectron was merged with Itek in the spring and I met both Carl Eaton and Dana who had worked togethe for several years.
On every follow on camera project that I ran at Itek until I left in early 1969 to form a marine electronics company, Dana was my contract's administrator, travel companion and more importantly my best friend through thick and thin.
We stayed in touch via Christmas cards since and I will surely miss all of the good times and shared experiences that we had all those years.
Peg if there is any thing I can do let me know. I re-founded the old company to karket the same marine safety and fuel saving products.
