Kevin was a Major when he became Commander of the 371st QM Bn. I recall one weekend when a PT run was scheduled for the unit. Major Moore (Kevin) was a very good runner. He was lined up behind me in this running formation. During the run, we had an additional activity where the last in line would speed up enough to pass up the whole running formation then circle around to get back towards the rear and tap the next Soldier and signal his turn to make the circle. Well, Kevin made the circle then tapped my shoulder. When I took off, Kevin could have used that minute to catch his breath. Instead, he ran another circle running right behind me, yelling the whole time that I better speed up or he was going to pass me! He was fast enough to have passed me even though I sped up, but our race around the Soldiers had all of us laughing! Kevin turned a routine run into a memorable, enjoyable event - that's just the way he was, leading all the time!
He will be truly missed. I offer my sincere condolences to the family.
