The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Marguerite Aitken can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

My friend Marguerite

I worked with Marguerite at Yoder-Atkin--Yoder Canada in Leamington.  I started there in 1968 to give you an idea of how long ago that was.  We all learned very quickly that you never tried to hide a mistake from her.  It might take her a few months, but she would stand at your desk and in her "Marguerite Voice" she would say "What do you know about" whatever the mistake you thought you had fixed.  The next time you made a mistake you went right to her desk and asked for her help.

A few years after I started we decided we would golf every Thursday after work.  There was just 3 of us - Bert Wigle, Marguerite and myself.  We were not good golfers but we had a lot of fun and then went out for dinner before we headed home.  The golf club manager always told us he knew where we where on the course because he could hear us laughing.

The last few years we lost touch with Marguerite and didn't know who to contact to find out where she was.

My deepest sympathies, she was a great lady and a pleasure to know and work with.
