*My name is Liz ,I’m Greg ‘ s younger sister. My brother was one of kind person gifted in every way. He came in into this life with movie star looks, intelligence, athletic, ability, a fab sense of humor and a heart of gold. His beautiful brown eyes would shine especially when we were laughing with him; they were ‘’Greg’’ stories of his volumes of experiences, many cherished from the one and only ‘’Greg’’. I watched him over the years as his little sister, wherever he went, he was the life of the party. He was, at school, center of attention whether it be in a group of friends, his big family, and the holidays. He was Elvis’s biggest fan and he could imitate him to a tee. The girls would scream and followed him every- where. They all wanted to be his girlfriend. He was even super popular in church amongst all his peers. We were in awe watching everyone around him, after all , they had their very own Elvis Presley in their midst. It couldn’t be better than that! There were throngs of girls and guys that constantly surrounded him. He was literally the Pied Piper, so loved but hard to catch for very long. Everyone wanted a part of ‘’Greg ‘’.With his movie star looks , he could throw a football with ‘’star’’ quarterback ability, and he pitched a baseball clocked at 98 miles an hour. As sweet and generous as Greg was, he was equally as stubborn. He had to do things his way. He had his own way of looking at things. His confidence carried him through. • I, and his younger siblings loved it when after he moved out of the family home, would drop by and he loved seeing us. • My dear sweet brother Greggie, (which I loved calling him), in time; as the later years approached, tired of the limelight and weathered through his share of disappointments that came his way; relished in his privacy and recognized his joy and love of his life was in his big family, and the love he got in return from his beloved nieces and nephew. • Greg, the last 30 years or so,dedicated himself in his self owned and operated Asphalt, Concrete, Paving business. He made lasting friendships with and talked fondly about Murray, Jason, Roy, Mike, and Dave all the time. He loved the work he was doing. As I look back, Greg had the heart of a child, reflecting on the good life filled with tons of stories of the glory days of the West San Fernando Valley and the fabulous fun he had amongst the literally hundreds of friends that settled here when his family did. He was and always will be awesome and loved. I was so glad I understood him.The greatest blessing bestowed on my beloved brother; was that he was Gregory Alan Olmstead.* We will all miss you soo much Greg; until we meet again . with love, your Sis Liz.
