The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dale Woodburn can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Carolyn "Lynn" Harden

Dr. Woodburn hired me in the summer of 1972 to teach Biology at DuVal HS when my husband and I moved to Prince George's County from upstate NY. A kinder and more unassuming man never walked the face of the Earth! He had his "fits" during the rough decade of the 1970's, both with the students and with some young pranksters on the faculty, but he took it all in stride. I think the posted tributes so far say it all and, although I send my condolences to the family on his passing, I celebrate a life well-lived and wish I could have been at the services in GA (since I now live in Macon but had no idea that he had moved down from MD). May this good and faithful servant rest in peace!
