Growing up, my dad and Mark's dad were, of course brothers, but were also very close, so I spent a lot of my childhood with Mark and his family. I still have fond memories and recurring dreams about those times. I also have other recurring dreams. One about trying to hunt ducks where I'm always late, never get my decoys set on the X's and end up hunting in a building. Another about trying to play golf but can never find a place on the first tee where I can actually swing at the ball. OK, so I'm a little weird...and I'm digressing. My memories and dreams about Mark and his family center around their house in Cold Spring. Playing ball in the front yard, running around the back yard and the woods behind their house and playing in the basement...the skits and of course...The Band. I still don't know what the words are to Green River, but every time I hear it I have to smile. I think of Mark now as one of the Blues Brothers. Trying to get the band back together (hopefully not too soon) and definitely on a mission from God.
