Obituary for Oleh Josaphat Cherkawsky

Oleh Josaphat Cherkawsky
On November 9, 2017, our father and grandfather, Oleh Cherkawsky, completed his life journey and passed away. We make this announcement with both deep sadness for his loss and pride in his life.
Oleh is survived by his son, Roman (Heather) Cherkawsky; three daughters, Irene (John) McDermott, Roxanne (Jeff) Howe and Darka (Wally) Tarnawsky; cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Sasha, Molly, Annalise, Marika, Adam, Nicholas, Kassian, and Leda; sister, Nelia; brother, Yurko; and extended family in Ukraine; in-laws, Dori Howe and Myron Tarnawsky; as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife and partner of 52 years, Olga; parents, Irene and John; sisters, Motria and Khrystia; and brother, Zenko.
Oleh was born in Ukraine and together with his father, Very Reverend John Cherkawsky, was separated from his immediate family, and made his way to Alberta where he continued his life as an honest, hard working, loving, dancing man, much loved and respected by us all. We have missed him.
Special thank you from our family to St. Thomas Covenant Care and staff for caring for and making a home for dad in these last months.
